Welcome to Vertigo Gallery, an art gallery connected to Vertigo Creative Studio in the vibrant heart of Antwerp, Belgium. As a new addition to the cultural scene, we primarily focus on emerging contemporary art, with a special emphasis on young and talented artists. Our mission is to provide a platform for the younger generation and to spotlight them for our enthusiastic audience, which includes those from the creative studio.
About Us
Although our gallery may not be the largest, it exudes an intimate atmosphere, allowing visitors to experience a deeper connection with the artworks. We utilize various means to bring art to life, including projections, LED screens, paintings, and objects.
At Vertigo Gallery, we believe in the power of innovation and creativity, and we strive to create a unique and inspiring space where art and audience come together.
Vertigo Gallery is part of Vertigo Creative Studio, a specialized studio in digital visuals and interactivity, playing a significant role in the audiovisual art sector. The studio’s expertise in cutting-edge technology and creative innovation enhances the gallery’s exhibitions, blending traditional art forms with modern digital experiences. This unique synergy allows Vertigo Gallery to offer an immersive and dynamic environment where art and technology converge.

“Images are very powerful. Images are like words in a way. They can change your whole perception of things, of reality, of yourself.” – Chantal Akerman

“It is a reminder that everything in this world is temporary, and that we must cherish every moment”
Night Flowers is a modern and unique collage of flowers, a timeless bouquet brought to life. The works form a powerful composition that not only showcases the bright and bold colors of the flowers but also their fragility and transience. They are a positive and colorful tribute to the emotions that giving flowers conveys: love, respect, or gratitude can be shared without words.
Wout Van Ackere
12.09.2024 – 09.11.2024
Vernissage Thursday 12.09 from 6pm-9pm
Wout is currently studing for his Master at Sint Lucas Art Academy in Antwerp. His project is an art initiative that centers around the “forgotten perspectives” of the tree. While others might focus on the aesthetic and functional aspects of trees, his work delves into their deeper meanings and untold stories.
Through his art, he invites viewers to reflect on profound themes such as “the tree as memory,” “the tree as soul (kindred spirit),” “between heaven and earth,” and the idea of the “sacred and the desecrated.” His aim is to challenge perceptions and inspire a deeper connection with these timeless symbols of life and wisdom.

Nele Brughmans
22.02.2024 – 21.03.2024
Nele is a passionate artist whose love for art was evident from a young age. Her diverse background in Interior Design, Graphic Design, and a study in Design & Sustainability in Sweden continues to enrich her art.
The common thread throughout all her works is the relationship between the city, the human, and nature. Her artworks serve as a subtle yet meaningful bridge between these elements. Like nature, everything in life is temporary and constantly changing. By embracing this transience, she captures and immortalizes its beauty.
Anneke Govaerts
25.04.2024 – 15.06.2024
Anneke, an artist born from a deep fascination with the hidden beauty of our world. As a self-taught creator, she has developed a unique style that transcends conventional boundaries and explores the connection between the material and the spiritual.
The allure of both deep, mysterious tones and bright, pure colors immediately demands attention. Each painting she creates is an original entity that invites viewers to pause and explore. These works inspire introspection and remind us that, amidst the hustle and bustle of daily life, there is always room for beauty and tranquility.
Rob Buelens
24.11.2023 – 21.01.2024
Rob Buelens (Londerzeel, 1989) reflects on human nature in his work. His remarkable and refined models and sculptures explore typically human desires, fixations, and group dynamics. Buelens’ work is closely connected to the painting of Flemish-Dutch masters like Jeroen Bosch and Bruegel, while also showing affinities with classic literary works such as *Gulliver’s Travels* and *Utopia*. In a similar fashion, Buelens’ poetic images encourage the viewer to contemplate their own nature. Without focusing on a specific situation or person, the viewer is confronted with the spectacle of humanity.

Nina Doevendans
Nina Doevendans is an autonomous artist and harpist who mainly focuses on making audiovisual installations, music and soundscapes.
Through her interest in digital creation, she transforms the perception of everyday images into a new fresh perception. Her installations contain meditative, mystical atmospheres that give you the feeling that you end up in another world.
The concept of space has an important role in her work. That is why music in the form of soundscapes strengthens the work enormously and therefore stimulates multiple senses. For this she works mainly with Pieter-Jan Buelens.
Her work is a counter reaction in a demanding and over-stimulated society.
